While browsing my ministry blog page this morning, I stumbled upon a beautiful poem written by a dear friend for my 40th birthday. Her talent with words is remarkable. This poem reminded me once more of how God views His daughters, His cherished jewels, and I want to share it with you.
Here goes.....
I woke up early one morning, decided to go on an adventure, searching for a good woman whose heart is stayed on God.
Travelling down a steep memory lane, searching and seeking for a woman of integrity, a woman upright in conversation, someone reliable and kind hearted.
Every fiber in my body kept echoing, this is a goose chase, but my spirit kept saying she is right at your reach!
Suddenly, in the jungle, the most unlikely place I spotted a pearl. An epitome of beauty and strength, yet with gentle appearance. Pure and precious, her freshness was like that of the morning dew. I moved closer, took another look, there it is, pure as gold, radiant in every way. Engraved on her was that phrase, Daughter of Zion!
Daughter of Zion, who is she? I have seen counterfeit over and over. I struggled, I shall not be fooled. I must further, I must unfold this misery. I began to ask from familiar people, who is she, the Daughter of Zion?
Her husband, amongst other accolades, called her priceless, her children called her great! Her friends called her faithful, her in laws, they called her invaluable, I asked her community, they called her godly, precious gift.
Yet unsure whether to let down my guard, I looked up to heaven to the one that sees the heart, and he whispered, that is my daughter, Daughter of Zion. Gentle and childlike, faithful in all her ways, pliable and God fearing. A vessel of honor in the Lord’s vineyard.
Ride on Daughter of Zion for the Lord is still working to show Himself strong on your behalf, for I hear the sound of rain, shower of blessing gushing down from heaven.
It is your time to shine in the glory of your king, this is your year of jubilation!
